"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Being in the Moment

These last few days here in sunny AZ have been so beautiful.  Yesterday, I just sat and revealed in the sunshine,  the beauty of  my garden, the singing birds and other furry creatures and just soaked it all in. Sometimes we just have to relax and do nothing... and BE in the Moment.

SZQ- the beauty that abounds in your garden just begs you to stop and soak in the sun and the natural and created beauty and be in the moment. That little bird is just such a jewel - nature is so amazing with its colours etc. Go well. B

OH MY! I have spent some time with you in your garden this morning (via the full screen). You inspire me so, you simply cannot imagine. Art oooozes and drips from your pores and you leave your mark all along your path. How wonderful. It is possibly the best use I have ever seen of an oxen yoke. Such a beautiful sanctuary you have created. I could rave on and run out of space! xoDonna

How serene your garden looks! Wish we had some sunshine to soak up here... but currently it is snow and rain and yuck. Enjoy some sun for me, please.

What a beautiful glimpse into your life. I love the expression on your pup in the first one of him. :)
