He spends hours backfiling designs and names into these knives
hours sanding and sanding and sanding
hours sharpening and sharpening
However, I do cut his knife blanks out of bars of Damascus
This beauty he made for my birthday a few years ago!

He always has a lot of custom orders to fill and gained another three from the show.

Oh My! I do have an appreciation for a well made, beautiful knife. Certainly, your H makes ones of everlasting beauty and quality. There was a time in my life this would have made the perfect gift. However, alas, no more. I still appreciate the craftsmanship. xxDonna
Wow, Soozee, what a cool hubby you have! A couple into steel, doesn't get better than that!
Jerry - it certainly will make retirement easier when we can both work on fun things in Steel! One more year and full time we can play.
SZQ - I just had to have a good laugh when I read the MMKM tag. The knives are truly works of att. So good that the creative retirement is but 12 months away - partners in steel I like it. You are also so right in you observation that so many artists are doing it tough at the moment - art is such a discretionary spend and food (and red wine) always comes before the purchase of art. But glad that MMKM sold his knives. Go well. B
my hubby makes lovely knives too but he hasn't done any for a while. I will show him this post and maybe he will get inspired! I love your post and the music is terrific too.
