"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Sometimes I Embarrass my Dogs

I've been working on lots of stuff over here, but due to the fact that someone I know might see this blog I can't show you the goofy things I'm working on for xmas gifts - so instead I will show you some other less important projects.

I recently picked up a couple of hand carved masks at the thrift store: One because they were hand carved and two because they were $1.00.  I figured even if they were painted ugly perhaps I could transform them and embarrass my dog!  I think a did a good job on that last point!  Since I've been doing a lot of the Zentangle Art drawing I figured I'd try that on the masks.
 Such a patient dog!
And because it's Christmas time why not get them in the Holiday Spirit
Harley on the left (he's a Pembroke Corgi) - Jaydee, she's a queensland healer

See the mortified look on her face!
She's so embarrassed!

That's it folks - It's gonna be slim pickin's on this blog until after the holidays.  Seems getting my act together to get xmas figured out before it gets here is always a chore and seems to get more and more difficult the older I get.  There's too much to do, too little time, and too many kids sooooo, if I have something of value to share (not like this blognote was of value) I shall return at a later date.

Stay well my Friends, Stay Healthy and
Happy Holidays!

SZQ- I have to have words with you - you have our car, you have our Jacaranda tree and you have our Blue Heeler - either you are 'stealing' our stuff or you are setting up a franchise of Australia in Arizona.!!!! By the way the dogs looked pretty uncertain about the antlers; and good mask conversion. Go well be happy. B

SZQ- As you can see from the comment above my computer was hijacked earlier today by Kim - you could delete the comment that appears to come from Kim.

So this is my comment.
