Mandalas are a timeless masterpiece, rich with traditions and symbolism. Each mandala is unique and conveys different meanings depending on who made it and what philosophies are believed by that individual. Mandalas are generally considered sacred objects with important teachings and a deity given to each one. Found in many different cultures and religions, from Buddhism, Hindu, Celtic, Native Americans, and many more the mandala has become a major symbol throughout history and even today. Yet many people don’t realize the significance or cultural meaning of this mighty symbol.

I have so many old shovels and sometimes I feel I shouldn't cut in to them when I see the odd qualities and the writing on them. I never truly know how old some are - hopefully I haven't cut one that could of sold on Sotherby's for $100,000!!

The intricacy of the Horse Goddess totally amazes me! And you think you couldn't do 'the three kings'?? You could do anything. Absolutely gorgeous. xoDonna
Gawd lady! you never fail to amaze me how you can actually cut metal into such intricate patterns! my jaw fell when i saw the Horse Goddess shovel! your bff is mighty lucky i must say!
LadyD: THANK YOU! I'll have to wrap my head around the 3 kings - make some modifications & wait for steel to drop in $$.
LT: Yeah EPONA was a real brain teaser - so intricate it gets hard to tell what part you're suppose to cut out. Hopefully the Ooops don't show too much. :)
SZQ - love the history and stories of the past that your shovels contain - and now you give them a new life and story - maybe worth more than $100,000? As LT said - very intricate work. Go well. B
Simply mind blowing. I love the picture you painted (in my head) of mandalas - and those shovels you've cut, do history and symbolism pure justice.
Oh these are Beautiful! I am Hopeful to get down to the Desert Botanical Gardens during your Show... I really don't want to miss it or any of the other amazing Events coming up this month and next.
Had to laugh at your Crazy Bear comment to my incident... because you should have seen me LAST NIGHT, I was on the far side of Crazy and knew I needed a cooling off period before the Meeting so that I wouldn't go berzerk, it was SO hard to reign in my Emotion & just state facts as they were and deal with each individual face to face that had been so negligent during a significant injury involvoing a Child... especially one of MINE!!! I had to remember to just BREATH & maintain stern composure as I addressed each part of the situation. And you can only imagine the Interrogation I got at the ER about the Medical Delay because we hadn't been notified and she's spent all day at School with such an injury, I was getting the hairy eyeball! So there is still the possibility the School will have an Investigation if the Medical Staff deem it & I'm okay with that.
