"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Dog Days of Summer

This weekend it's all about stayin' cool.... I mean really cool - the kind you need when it's 110 outside.  Surviving in the beautiful Arizona desert would be so difficult without a pool and thankfully we have one.  The Dog Days of Summer at our house are exactly that...... all about the dogs!  We swim a lot and stay cool.  I haven't been doing much in the way of metal work - the heat it's just too much right now and I'm not so motivated to get out there with a welding helmit, heavy shirt, heavy shoes and try to conjure up my Mojo to create when I can hardly see thru the sweat in my eyes -  Sooooo

Just a quick post to
Wish all the Father's out there a wonderful Father's Day
and share a few pictures of our Dog Days of Summer and a few other visitors.

Hi SZQ - wow!!! that is warm. The dog diving shots made me laugh - they are so into it - I know who would get tired of the action first. The Dragonfly shots are beautiful - such delicate clear images. Given the heat I'm sure the universe is saying just let the mojo chill for a bit. Go well. B

Your pool is beautiful what a setting and the pup is surely having a grand old time. Cool here in the northeast yet, no real summer weather. I don't envy you your 110. Lovely pics of the dragonfly wings. xox

Just popping in to say I'm still alive, so I'll be blogging once in awhile again until I'm totally well. Good you see your beautiful blog again. Your pool looks delightful! The dogs are obviously in their glory. Dragon fly photos exquisite. Take care. hugs, Donna

Sorry to hear you are not 'jazzed' these days either! I guess we have to have some downtime. WHY? is my big question Take it easy. If you hear a big splash in your pool in the night it will be me. lol xoDonna
