"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

I hope everyone out there is being way more productive than myself these days.  Seems I can't get out of my head and focus on creating anything with any purpose, but maybe I never really did!    I've got an upcoming show mid-March, but can't seem to wrap my head around that either.  I tell you my eyes & mind grow bored these days, but when I snap out of it there is always so much to see.  I did get out and stroll around and take photo's of the surrounding wildlife and floral beauty that surrounds me so until I gain my mind back long enough to fire up the torch, take a little walk with me down the road and keep me company for just a bit.

Hopefully I'll be back soon with something fun to show you!!

Hi SZQ - that walk and all that beauty must be good for your spirit; and maybe that sunshine will bring the muses back. Must be hard for an outdoor type to feel creative in dark and cold times. What are you doing in mid March? Sending creative vibes your way. B

I too sometimes go thru Creative dry spells. Thankfully they don't last long and when I feel Creative again I get totally lost in my Art! Your Art of Photography is Lovely though... perhaps that is what you were meant to Create right now, capturing Images like this to delight the eyes and share!
Thanks for stopping by... now I must go take a peek at your fab Soumak 'score' back in August! I got a large Hamadan for my Livingroom last year while Goodwill Hunting, paid $40... a Lady standing nearby sneered that it couldn't possibly be the real deal for that price... I'm glad she didn't bother doing her due diligence on it because it was and had the Import & Customs Tags still attached! I had the Princess G-Baby sit on it while I got two men and boy to lift it for me, good Lord those hand made Persian rugs are heavy!
