"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

I am Right Brain

Right Brain
I am the right brain.
I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion.
Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of roaring laughter.
I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feet.
I am movement. Vivid colors.
I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas.
I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel.
I am everything I wanted to be.

The right and good side! If you continue with these paintings you will never find the time to weld. I LOVE them!

Ahhhhhhhhhh... more Beautiful Cheerful Colorful Art... I needed that! *Winks* Had to laugh, you're the 2nd person that suggested a Bubble Bath! Only problemo with that is that this old House was built out in the middle of nowhere at the turn of the Century so initially had no interior Bathrooms, they were added much later & are VERY cubby-like so only have Saloon Door Stand Up Showers in them. The only Tub I have is an antique Claw Foot Cast Iron Tub in the back half of our acre... The House is no longer in the middle of nowhere so picture me out under the Sun in the altogether having a bubble bath and Tequila {or whatever} and hoping nobody happens to traipse by {The Son lives in one of the back Cottages right by said Tub}... now, I'm an Old Hippie so I probably wouldn't mind, no inhibitions here... but any witness of said Image might need a lot of Therapy to get that unseared from their psyche?! *Winks* So instead I put the G-Kid Force to bed early after our return from the VA Hospital and am sipping an Iced Starbucks instead... Looks like The Man may be spending Super Bowl Sunday Hospitalized, so he's not exactly a Happy Camper!

Still Laughing... Dawn... The Bohemian

Oh My! They are so gorgeous and I am in love. Talent simply ooooozes from your pores ... it's everywhere in everything you touch. I absolutely adore donkeys - always have! Here in Mexico, I am tempted to steel a couple for my courtyard, however luckily some common sense prevails. These would be much more sensible within my walls. when are you making prints!? oxDonna
