"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Google friends connect - Am I going Away???

Friends and followers - I've heard talk lately that if you connected to this website with Google Friend connects that it will all disappear in March or you guys will disappear... I really don't have a clue.  I'm not that savvy with all this blogging jargon, but if all disappear in March and you all go away, don't know if I'll be back or not.  Trying to recreate this blog, move it to Google +, figure it all out may be just too much right now.   I'm not really sure how this affect things but here's an article I found that explains.  Although, I didn't really get it!  Oh well - it's been a fun ride.

Soozee, I'll miss you too and your wonderful work and funny shopping!
I suspect that google friends connect is a clever way to get into more computers for more advertizing. I don't mind if they sneak into my computer but would hate for them to sneak into yours because of me! Guilt by association! I am stuck on my book anyway and now I will have an excuse! Spring will be soon and my garden will be calling me! but, so very nice to have met you!

Well, I'm totally confused and it's too late at night for me to try and comprehend. It does say something about 'non blogger sites' which sounded rather hopeful. I'll have to investigate more. You CANNOT go away! My friend is here from CAnada and we've been drinking champagne on the terrace for a very long time --- 'nough said. Not the time to try to think. Donna

SZQ - I take it you are attempting to do a transpire of your blog to another carrier. We did that and it worked. But fingers crossed hope to 'see you' in March in another plane. One way or another we will continue the conversation - and we have a peace the to create in 2013 yet - so you might hide but you won't diaper. 'Talk' soon. B

Oh no, I've just found you . I have to tell you what you've meant to me. I too am a "late in life" welder. Model #1953".Ack I'm just starting out with a small wire-feed and dream of a" plazma". The inspiration and the post you've done have been "spot-on" to me.These come to mind first,Peter and the Sand dance,The Dirty Car Artist,Eric Whiteacres Virtual Choir The Karma post and especially, the saying by Silver Birch. The most resonating one though was, the post on Jan.4 2010. It really hit home. So, I guess it's true that you never know who is out there that truly is being helped by what you put on your blog. I have to tell you I've been a "lookie-loo' for years and follow alot of other bloggers but have never commented to any, this is my first. I'm so impressed by your art,all of it and am moved to break down and tell you what an inspiration you have been to me. I sincerly hope that the Google"thing does not cause the end of your blogging however, if so,it's been a pleasure. Thank you for your time.

Thanks you all for your comments and perhaps this latest post was all for not. I guess my blog won't disappear only some of my followers, but hopefully not.
BS - who know where that project we throw around will take us. If I don't get my housing situation done by year end who know where I'll be. If nothing else come to AZ and I'll be your tour guide.
Brenda - Oh my, you touch my heart with such kind words and the thought that you've been hiding is ok. I never think of myself as an inspiration to others since I'm so inspired by so many out there, but truly your words meant more to me than you can imagine! I'll hang around as long as I'm creating and sharing that journey, so pls drop in anytime.
Lady D! Save some champagne for me!

Takin' the back road from Greer to Morenci was gorgeous. This was waiting at the end.
