"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Mother's Day has winded down and all the kids have gone home.  Had a lovely breakfast made by all my boys, not just for me but all the Mother's in our family.  It was a crazy, hectic kitchen indeed.  I just sat back and watched.  I was very thankful I didn't have to clean up today!

Although I wasn't with my Mom she was of course in my thoughts. I painted her a picture of a little corner window at her house, flanked by the biggest old apricot tree I have ever seen.
Mom, I love you and I hope your day was as beautiful as you are!
Here's a little walk down memory lane
Wow, Mom don't you wish we had these days back!

Dear Soo-ze-Oh-I just loved looking at your pics down memory lane-I can just see the love and warmth between the two of you. and WOW!!! Miss Soo-ze...you are beeeeeee-yooootiful!!! I mean...stunning, super model over the top!!! And you have a wonderfully warm and beautiful heart too! I love the painting you did too-what is that? Acrylic? it has a very linear quality to it...almost like a drawing. Love the colors and the composition and the warmth (the emotive quality).
Oh! totally agree with you about balance. I was just going to write the 2nd part of my post where I say...there is no such thing as balance...when I had to take care of Tara poo...she has been down with a cold. But I absolutely agree with you...just go with the flow...xxx
