"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Keep on Truckin' (how old is that saying!)

Since it's so HOT here I've had to resort to watercolor painting instead of metal work. I've also decided that cleaning house, walking dogs, doing laundry, getting the mail and every other chore that requires me to get up is also something I'm not doing.   Every time I start painting again I feel nervous, so inept ~ I know I don't do it right, I go to fast, my paintings get muddy, I need to take classes!  At any rate that being said here's one of my favorite pictures I took recently of an old old truck in Villenuva, NM.  Mine of course is the "Cartoon Version".  Sadly I didn't start out with that intention ~ perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned that.  Oh well what the Hell.

Wow! I love the colors and the textures you have in this painting. I can see the rust and krusty metal. YOu did an awesome job and need to relax!

I love it! The colors are great. I love junk too. Hopefully it cools off soon so we can all have a little energy. Happy CED!

I love the composition and colors of this piece. One of my favorite effects in Kodak Easyshare is the cartoon effect. I love the fun and funky flavor of this piece!

Takin' the back road from Greer to Morenci was gorgeous. This was waiting at the end.
