"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Vacation is Over

Well we had a wonderful time on our vacation visiting family!  I'm not sure I'm glad to be home, because that means I have to work, clean, cook ~ you know all that stuff you  have to do when you'd rather be doing something else.  It's back to the grind for the the next show in two weeks, but here's a few pics of what I saw.  I hope to visit you all soon and see what lovelies you've all been up to!

I love the ocean, the sound, the smell, the peace, the discovering of so many treasures.  Watching the wildlife, which surrounded us day and night.  I know there are a lot of pictures to see, but it could of been worse .... another 400-500 I have.
The OCEAN

 The SCULPTURES

 The Wildlife

 The Beautiful Chapel
go HERE to see and read more on this little Gem.

We saw all the signs of the seasons change to fall that we never see here in our part of Arizona.  Everything stays the same so to experience all the color of the trees was awesome.
The water was so still early in the morning the reflections were magical
 Fog never looked so beautiful
 Another unreal reflection

SZQ - truely amazing ocean, wildlife, reflects etc etc. It looks like it was a magical holiday - almost painful to let go of and return home - but beautiful memories and photos. Thanks for sharing. Hope it was also a relaxing and invigorating break. Go well. B

Oh! so gald you got achance to listen to Dr. Estes. She is just amazing!!! I have so many of her audio tapes that I listen to while I paint. She speaks and explains things in a very easy to understand way...and she is a storyteller at heart.
