"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Garden Jewelry

Put a fork in me - I'm done!
Two days before the three day show and I've done all I can do.  I'm always torn with the option of painting steel and letting it rust naturally.
I love, love, love rusted metal so it's always a tough call, but I also know that others love the colorful stuff, so of course I have to throw of few of those in and all with a little birdie.  The birds above are still hiding a little since they are waiting to Rust more.

These are all one of a kind and you certainly can't buy them at your local garden shop where most items are imported, but if you're in the Phoenix area head on over to the Botanical Gardens this weekend and pick one up along with some butterflies, ocotillos, winged hearts, shovels and last but not least Lace cut wheelbarrows.  Support your local Artists

Please stop in and say Hi
I sure hope to see you there!

Sorry to hear that your hubby had knee replacement surgery...I have heard that it's one of the most difficult to heal (along with hip). I hope he heals really fast...it must be super difficult for you with all you have going on. Lots of hugs to you (and hubby!) xxx
