"ARROYO"

A dry channel through which water flows intermittently and irregularly. Kind of like this blog.

My art is an infectious need for me, sometimes a burden but most often a blessing.

This blog is about me and my obsessions, my loves, my need to create and my need of JUNK. I'm addicted to thrift stores, estate sales, flea markets and all roads leading off the beaten track to discover that perfect piece of junk. I recycle old license plates, old shovels, wheelbarrows, saw blades and anything else that's funky using my hand held plasma cutter. I love working with steel, sculpting, photography, watercolor painting, stained glass, and turning everyday utilitarian objects into art. Junked cars ~ I will always veer off the path to search out the beautiful wrecked Arroyo JunKers throughout Arizona, New Mexico and anywhere else the road may lead. When I'm not searching for those JunKers

Arroyo Junker Beauties

If you hang out with me long enough you begin to realize (and it doesn't take very long) that I love JUNK, especially metal junk. The one project I work on whenever I travel is photographing old junked cars.  That was sort of the reason I started this blog ~ to showcase those junked cars and all my other JUNK that I resurrect.  That other JUNK I resurrect certainly gets more air time so today I'll share a few more of those rusted out, patina beautified ~ Arroyo Junkers.

Hi SZQ - now I have junker envy - not only in regard to the opportunity to capture them with the camera; but like LT I would love to scavenge parts; and of course I think it would be cool to do one of the machines up and use it to run around but don't do anything to the rust and dents etc. The last photo and vehicle is exquisite. Continue to enjoy your junkers. B

I love junk, too! It all has such character, such history begging to be shared. Love your blog. :-)

OMG, I love what you do! Absolutely amazing. I think I've told you before, but I have to keep coming back here to make sure I'm not seeing things!
